2012 Lineup Announced for Huntington Lighthouse Music Festival!

The 2012 Lineup for the Huntington Lighthouse Music Festival to be held September 1, 2012 has been announced!

King Wellington, Blacklight, Pamela Betti Band, The Fuzz, Playback and Runnin’ Loose – favorites from past years – will be returning this year to rock the Lighthouse!

NEW performers including Joe Rock and the Allstars, Pacifica Roadshow and Prospect Street are a great addition to this years line-up! We can’t wait to experience their great performances from the top of the Lighthouse Roof!

2011 Lighthouse Music Fest a Smashing Success!

Over 750 boats attended the 5th Annual Huntington Lighthouse Music Festival on Saturday, September 3. This is the ONLY Music Festival held on TOP of a working Lighthouse in the middle of the water! The boats started coming on Friday night and by Saturday morning over 50 boats were already anchored in the harbor. The music started at 11:15 with King Wellington and lasted well past Sunset with Pamela Betti rocking the house! This years newcomer, Henry Haid, and Only in America didn’t disappoint and were a FABULOUS addition to the lineup! Thanks to all of our sponsors, guests and especially the VOLUNTEERS….if we didn’t have you none of this would be possible! The next Lighthouse Music Fest will be held Labor Day Weekend of 2012 and we will be celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Lighthouse!!

Jump on Board the “Christeen” for the Music Fest!

Landlubbers can book passage on the “Christeen”, the oldest Oyster Sloop in North America, for this years Lighthouse Music Fest! NOTE: THE MUSIC FEST IS ONLY VIEWABLE BY BOAT – THERE IS NO LAND ACCESS. The Christeen will be picking up passengers at the Huntington Town Dock and mooring at the Lighthouse. You can choose to sail in the morning from 10:30 – 2:30 or the afternoon from 3:00 – 7:00, or all day! Bring your own food and drinks. The cost is $75 per sail. Phone The Waterfront Center at (516) 922-SAIL (7245) and tell them you want to reserve your spot today. Space is limited.

We are thrilled to announce that Henry Haid, the Piano Man, will be treating us with a performance at the Lighthouse Music Fest this year!! Henry has risen to fame after being hand-picked by the lead in Twyla Tharpe and Billy Joel’s musical “Movin Out”. His performance as The Piano Man, Billy Joel, at the Richard Rogers Theatre in New York City, received rave reviews. Henry will be joined by “Only in America Band and East Coast Music”.

If so, we need your help at the Music Fest!! A new program starting on the waterfront to give teens an opportunity to earn community service credits. If you are available on Labor Day Weekend, join us. Volunteer prior, during and after this wonderful event!

Boatyard Cabaret featuring Risa Finkel!

Kick off the summer season at a unique, unparalleled cabaret performance inside a boatyard shed at Coneys Marine to benefit the Huntington Lighthouse Preservation Society.
Risa Finkel, singer, will perform standards and treasures from the American songbook with some of New York’s finest on piano, bass, percussion and cello. Having studied and performed opera for many years, she transitioned into cabaret style singing and never looked back!
Her loyal fans couldn’t be happier!
